Projects
-
Day9.TV
We stepped in to rebuild Day9.tv's web presence by migrating the site from a legacy codebase to a modern stack; complete with Twitch integration for "go live" alerts. The "Adventure in Day9tv Town" was a highlight — an interactive Twitch experience that we helped bring to life by building out the user facing interactive controls so they could participate in real-time.
-
Ollie
We created Ollie to make early learning more inclusive. This iOS app helps caregivers teach letters, numbers, and sight words through positive reinforcement and fully customizable accessibility options. Caregivers can adjust fonts, colors, and contrast to create a learning experience that supports each child’s needs.
-
Myrlo
We developed Myrlo, a hybrid mobile app that blends storytelling and AI. Built with Angular, Node.js, and MongoDB Atlas, it uses a graph-based narrative system and retrieval-augmented generation to maintain story context and memory. Behind the scenes, a custom message queue and load balancing system keeps the experience fast and reliable.

FAQ
- What does the process look like?
- We start every project with a quick chat about your goals and brand so we can come up with a quote. From there, we'll schedule a Discovery meeting to dive in and come up with a full plan that covers the design and development of the project. Next, we'll collaborate closely with you and your team to review designs, iterate on the project, and refine any workflows until your project is ready to launch.
After launch, we can transition into ongoing support or development, depending on your needs. - How long will it take to create a website?
- Timeline depends heavily on the complexity of the project. A simple website might be able to launch within a few weeks, but a much larger or interactive site can take months to fully nail down. We'll give you a clear estimate after the initial consult, and keep you updated of any changes in the timeline throughout the process.
- How long will it take to create a mobile app?
- Mobile apps typically take longer than websites. Depending on the complexity, development can take a couple of months to half a year. We'll work in stages, sharing progress weekly so you always know what to expect; you can even test the app out on your own personal device during development.
It's also worth noting that mobile apps may have delays outside out control — Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store have their own requirements and require approval for releases, which often results in a bit of back-and-forth for the initial release. Once the app is in the store, updates generally release much faster, often in a day or two. - Couldn't I just use a template or web builder?
- You absolutely can! Website builders like Squarespace or Wix are a great way to get your feet off the ground, but they often limit your creativity and you may hit limitations with what services you're able to use or connect to your site. A handcrafted solution means you end up with a website that truly fits your brand, fits your existing workflows, and lets you grow without any restrictions.
- Can I update the content myself after launch?
- Yes, your site will be built ontop of a Content Management System (CMS) that lets you or your team make changes and manage your own content however you see fit. As part of the go-live, we'll schedule training to make sure you know what you're doing, and we'll be available after launch if you have any questions.
The actual choice of CMS will depend on the project, and we prefer self-hosted or open source options (so you avoid Vendor Lock-In.) Every project is unique however, so we'll make sure to present all of the options, or integrate with existing systems you may have. - Do I own my website, app, or code once it's finished?
- Absolutely! Once the project is complete and everything is signed off, everything is yours. You own the code, assets, design, and any content created for the project. You'll receive an archive containing everything, and access to a private repository so you can access it from anywhere.
- What happens if I want another developer to work on my project later?
- Every project is documented clearly so another development team can pick up where we left off if needed. We'll also schedule a consultation call with the new team to run them through everything and answer any questions they may have, with the option of hiring us for ongoing consultation as needed for large or complex projects.
- Can we migrate my existing website content?
- Yes, we can move content from most major platforms to your new site, carefully mapping everything to ensure nothing is lost. We’ll also assist with content updates and make sure URLs are properly rewritten, helping to preserve SEO value and ensure a smooth transition for your customers.
- Will Pixel & Moss host my website?
-
We offer hosting for all of our projects for a monthly fee, and we'll handle the security and updates for your project so you can focus on your business.
If you'd prefer to host the site yourself, we'll offer reccomendations for providers and help you with the initial setup and deployment. - Do you work with businesses outside of Oregon?
- Absolutely. While we’re based in the Pacific Northwest and love working with local businesses, we collaborate with clients anywhere; remotely or in person.
